Beer Money Games was at Road America again for the Champcar Series fall race. On day 1 we had a host of issues, from swapping out to the old school carburetor, having to hold the shifter in 3rd so it wouldn’t pop out, to a driver flat spotting all 4 tires going into turn one! But we didn’t look at in a bad way, we decided to turn day 1 into our test day, and be ready for day 2 and be strong.

It was Halloween time too, so many of the teams dressed up and gave out treats to all the visiting kids, we picked a vintage theme to go with our vintage car!

Day 2, we were awesome! The car still had a 3rd gear vibration, but manageable, I noticed that the car was just as fast lugging it out in 4th gear as I was shifting twice in the same section. I made en effort to shift less, but not all drivers shared my strategy. With 30 minutes left of the race, we were leading our class by well over a lap and 3rd place overall. Then 3rd gear broke and the shifter came off the transmission. We were done.

It was a good race weekend, but bummed we didn’t come home with another trophy.

It’s always great to have people coming to find you after a driving stint to thank someone on your team!

Overall we had an awesome weekend winning our class on day 2 and coming in 8th overall. On day 1, one of our axles slide out the side of the car, a driver behind us described it like something a car would do in a bond movie. Click read more to see additional photos.

Last time we were at Road America our car blew the engine. This time we were hopeful after having a much better last race. On the first day, the transmission failed. But on day 2 (again) we won our class and came in 6th overall!

This was the 2nd race event for our new build. We traveled to Michigan’s GingerMan Raceway for the 2 day event. On day one our car was awesome, until the input shaft on the transmission broke. We swapped to our space unit and finished out the day.

On day 2 we managed to stay on track all day, minus the clutch wanting to stick in gear. We ended up winning our class, and coming in 14th overall.

We made it to Road America! But ended up having quit early with en engine issue. We had fun, but with we finished the race. We also had technical issues with the new streaming software so we could not live stream the race. But we did record it on our go-pro. That will be uploaded at a later date!

In the 11th hour before we packed the car into the trailer we could not get our FiTech to run for over 3 minutes. We called the tech support and they said we had to run a factory distributor. My follow up was if that isn’t the problem, what would be our next course of action because they closed in 5 minutes. He confidently said, that will fix it and said good bye. We did that, and it didn’t fix the issue. We had to go to a backup carburetor. NOT PLEASED WITH FITECH right now…

Our Nissan was way better then I ever thought it was going to be. It was super fast and handled really good on the track. I would totally drive another one someday. For now, here is a few photos of it.

I found out about indie prize this year and plan to submit our latest game to be considered. While I am hopeful we’ll be selected, looking at past years apps and games – WOW! Lots of amazing games have been part of this event in the past.
